A fitness coach and well-respected real estate agent fell to his death after he was locked out of his apartment.

Matty King found himself stuck on the second-storey balcony of his apartment in Teneriffe, Brisbane, after he locked himself out.

The 29-year-old attempted to scale the building to get back in, but lost his balance and fell, The Courier Mail reported.

Mr King doubled as a fitness coach at Orangetheory Fitness Ascot, where he was described as a shining light who always managed to make those around him smile.

His body was found at the bottom of his unit complex on Sunday, February 10.

‘He’d come in here and just contribute in every way you’d want – he was a great bloke with integrity and he worked really hard,’ principal realtor from Ray White New Farm, Haesley Cush, said.

‘Matty was really beautiful, inside and out, and if you saw him, he was in peak physical condition.’

A memorial was held on Friday to honor Mr King, who was described as a kind and caring man who was a ‘citizen of the world’.

Mr King’s parents flew into Brisbane from their hometown of Auckland to attend the memorial.

A second memorial is expected to be held in Auckland.
